45970: The Heavenly Man: The Remarkable True Story Of Chinese  Christian Brother Yun

The Heavenly Man
"The Heavenly Man" by Brother Yun of the Chinese Underground House Church movement is the book that has affected my life more than any. He is still alive and the stories that are spoken about his experience take you back to the book of Acts. It fills the heart so full of Grace and Faith as you listen to what seemed to only happen 2000 years ago but now right here in our day and age. Stories of the miraculous and the sad stories of constant suffering and imprisonment . If you read this book I guarantee you will not be the same. I don't say that lightly as some people do about every book they read. This is truly a book you will read every year. I have the book and the MP3 audio. Read it and be blessed in Jesus Name! It is my number 1 recommended book.

"The Heavenly Man" is my absolute favorite of all times and is my number one recommended book to every Christian believer at whatever maturity level you are at. Here are a list with links to other books that have really blessed my life and encouraged my Christian walk:

Humility
08546: Humility

By Andrew Murray / Bridge-logos Publishing

When Jesus "made himself nothing ... taking the nature of a servant," He modeled for all believers true humility. Murray calls this "our true nobility" and "the distinguishing feature of discipleship." In twelve brief but powerful chapters, Murray journeys through Scripture and Christ's life, underscoring the utmost need for humility---as opposed to pride---in the Christian's life. With insightful, penetrating clarity, Murray calls all Christians to turn from pride, empty themselves, and study the character of Christ to be filled with His grace. Often called the best work on humility ever written, this edition has been sensitively revised into modern English, includes a biography on Murray as well as photographs, and a full color timeline of selected Christian and historical events and people on the inside covers.

Surprised by the Power of the Spirit, Softcover

By Jack Deere / Zondervan

2112X: Surprised by the Power of the Spirit, Softcover
What caused a former Dallas Seminary professor to believe that the miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit are being given today? What convinced someone skeptical about miracles that God still speaks and heals?
A dramatic change took place in Jack Deere's life when he took a fresh look at the Scriptures. He discovered that his arguments against miraculous gifts were based more on prejudice and lack of personal experience than on the Bible. As soon as Deere became a seeker instead of a skeptic, the Holy Spirit revealed himself in new and surprising ways.
In Surprised by the Power of the Spirit, Deere provides a strong biblical defense for the Spirit's speaking and healing ministries today. He also describes several reliable cases of people who were miraculously healed or who heard God speak in an unmistakable way. Finally, he gives sound advice for using spiritual gifts in the church.
Written in a popular style, with the care of a scholar but the passion of personal experience, Surprised by the Power of the Spirit explores:
  • the real reason Christians do not believe in miraculous gifts
  • responding to charismatic abuses
  • whether miracles were meant to be temporary
  • why God still heals
